    3. Willard's grave is listed on findagrave.com. You could pull up this entry and ask for a free photo. I know Tony Cannon lives in Bloomington, and does 59 of these every week. It's worth a try. You could also try contacting him directly; he's listed as a volunteer.. Cheryl Kale Lee Anne Center <lacenter@comcast.net> wrote: I would love to get a photograph of Willard R. 3. George is not a listed child of Charles Barney. However, since they passed through before 1840 and the first set of children were mostly adults, it is possible that one or more of the sons stayed, married locally and George is a son of that marriage. This is one of the reasons why I posted it. The family passed through and left its mark but would be hard to trace. Years ago we had someone trying to work on Marcy Jane Lucas' first husband, John Williams. His stone is one of those missing from Steenbergen. She did not know what happened to Marcy. 2. Zelda Martin
    3. Need help---trying to locate birth parents of a Samuel (O'Brine (O'Brien) b 1868. Marriage certificate to Rebecca Graham Mitchell states Samuel was born 3 June 1868 in San Jose, Mason Co. IL. Family recollection is that his mother died at some point in time after his birth. He was taken in by the midwife who delivered him. The midwife (name unknown) evidently raised him to around the age of 9yrs old when she too passed away. He was then dropped off at Eleanor (Ellen) Proctor O'Brien's house in San Jose. Eleanor Proctor O'Brien purchased property in San Jose in 1868 located next to her sister Mary Proctor Hight. Eleanor had married a William O'Brien in 1851 WV and was widowed by the time she moved to San Jose. Eleanor never legally adopted Samuel. Samuel's oldest son Forrest O'Brine's wife listed in her family Bible that Samuel's birth surname was Waxs???Wack,Wacht. or Weeks. etc. Would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you.

    3. NOOOOO, I wouldn't want it that bad!!! Holy cow, they want the living too. Like I said, I have the adoption decree, but the mothers name isn't on it nor the wife's maiden name. I was hoping there might be a release paper signed by the mother - did they do that sort of thing back then? Surely, she needed to sign 'off' on the baby? But no, don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for that. Seems my grandfather (mothers dad) was born in 1889, the parents were his actual father and a girlfriend/mistress/lover (?) and not his wife. However, he and the wife 'adopted' him. Which seems a bit odd, why wouldn't he have just taken the boy without it being legal? But his father use to take him to a park and 'meet' the pretty lady once in awhile when he was young - this was all he remembered about it as told to my grandma. We don't know the wife's maiden name or any idea what the 'mothers' name was. That's the only place I could think that might have both their names listed. Thanks again.
