    1. [ILLOGAN-L] Re:Kentucky Tips
    2. I agree that Sandi's Kentucky tips is great. She also is the listowner for the mailing list for South Central KY and this is a super place for those with ancestors in Allen, Barren, Monroe, Edmundson, Warren, Adair, Cumberland, Hart, Russell, Green, Logan, Metcalfe, and Hardin counties, She posts records for these counties on a regular basis. Great list, but be prepared for lots of mail. The address is SOUTH-CENTRAL-KENTUCKY@rootsweb.com

Yes, you told me about it and I did see John Williams on that page! I have also since found out that the Copeland's, Turley's, and Williams' were friends and some became in-laws! I am making definite progress on this Williams line. Thanks for your help! Shauna Riverton, Utah

    1. [ILLOGAN-L] Census Records
    2. I have put a link to all the census records in the USGenWeb Archives on the main web page down below the middle. From it you can find available census records from ANY state that are on Rootsweb. It is updated daily. I think that is best since it gives you every record. Next week the one you are seeking in, say, Pennsylvania may show up and I wouldn't want you to miss it -- I know many of you search in several areas. 1. [ILLOGAN-L] 1850 Census
    2. Bad news. I just heard from SK. They ordered the 1850 Logan County census files from the National Archives April 5 but the wrong ones were shipped, arriving May 10. On May 11 they ordered the correct ones. Those still have not been shipped and the National Archives cannot say when they will be. They are backlogged. When they are finally shipped it won't take very long but they certainly won't be done this week as previously expected. Bummer. 1. Re: [ILLOGAN-L] 1830 Sangamon County Census
    2. I knew it was you but I didn't want to hold you to it in case you didn't know the outline of the county then. I will order it and when I do they will charge my charge card. When I know what day that is I'll know when the bill is coming. I don't need to be paid until I'm getting the bill. Unfortunately there isn't a need for me to rush the order. The National Archives is WAY behind in shipping the microfilm to the company that makes the images. Cheryl Cheryl Rothwell clrothwell@mindspring.com

    1. [ILLOGAN-L] 1830 Sangamon County Census
    2. We are getting together to pay for the 1830 Sangamon County census images. As you know, in 1830, Logan was part of Sangamon. I have donations from DeWitt and Sangamon County so we aren't doing this without their cooperation. I had one person who sent an email about this several weeks back. If the person who sent that message will confirm with me I'd appreciate. Anyone else willing to donate please let me know this week. I have a deed dated August 5,1885 from the Union Cemetery Association of Lincoln,IL. to J.P.Lundy for a plot located in the cemetery . The amount paid is $5.00.It appears to be grave number 2 in range number 2 in B section, though this is hard to read. The search for the Lundys has been a hard one and I am hoping someone has access to a cemetery book for this cemetery or could do some other kind of lookup for me to see who is buried there and if there is now possibly more than one grave. If that is impossible could someone possibly give me the mailing address or phone number of the cemetery if it is still active.Sincerely, Kathy Beauchamp from Maryland

    1. Re: [ILLOGAN-L] 1840 Census question - Vallentine
    2. Dr. John Vallentine is probably THE most reputable Lucas researcher for these lines. He is a PhD, Professor Emeritus at Brigham Young University, Certified Genealogist, Accredited Genealogist, etc. He's been researching for at least 50 years. I should add that his maternal great grandmother and mine were sisters. He has researched every one of their ancestral lines in great detail which makes me very happy of course. So, if he was the submitter I'd tend to believe AF.
