Does anyone know anything about any WALTON families, probably of Reading Township, around 1890-1892? Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" WALTON entered the Livingston Co. Poor Farm in late 1891 with 2 daughters Maggie and Maude, from Reading Township. The baby Maude was given up for adoption from there in March of 1892 to John and Sarah (Umphenour) Welch of Ocoya, and Lizzie and Maggie left the Poor Farm and disappeared. I've checked some WALTON families including that of the men who owned the Walton Store in Fairbury. The destroyed 1890 federal census could have helped so much. There was a Mary Elizabeth WALTON of about the right age who married an Arthur CAMPBELL in Bloomington, McLean Co. in November of 1892. I can't find them on any 1900 census. The baby Maude was my paternal grandmother. Linda K.
