1. [ILLIVING] Towns & Townships of Livingston Co
2. hi, I've compiled a list of all the towns for Livingston County, their locations by Township, the years they had a Post Office or their present Zip Code, and have them at my web page for anyone to use and freely copy. Additionally each township shows a listing of every town within its boundaries with former town names included, and the 1980 population, the site is at: Livingston Co, Illinois Genealogical Research BTW i'm also compiling a huge list of surnames of families known to have lived in the county at the site, its available to everyone to use and freely add to it, provided a source is given for the information (in other words, where did the information come from? Ex: Rumplestiltskin (IGI), Boothe (1860 Census), Lincoln (1855 State Census). I'm hoping this will make it easier for researchers to find the families who later went west to follow Horace Greeley's advice. Here's a list of a few towns that existed but i can't nail down the precious location and hope someone out there could at least identify the appropriate township. It would be nice to know the years each was most active and your source of information, so i can bring the list up-to-date: Unknown Twp = Adams, Billing's Grove, Bluegrass, Cardiff Junction, Chicago and Alton Junction, Clay, Cottagedale, Currier's Grove, Dimmick, Five Mile Grove, Germanville, Glenwood Mills, Healy, Hickory Point, McClary, McGowan Corssing, McGowans, Murphy Station, Norman, North Cornell, Owego, Pontiac Junction, Richmond, Rookside, Round Grove, Saxony, Scattering Point, Smith's Mound, South Point, Stoddards, Streator Junction, Sullivan Centre, Tucker's Ford, Waldo, Wilson, Windtown I'm finishing up work on the rivers, creeks, and streams which will be added as soon as AOL figures out why we are having difficulty updating web pages :) than dennis

3. Hi Dennis, Have you tried: http://geonames.usgs.gov to locate your towns that are missing township names?
