To the GOUGE reseacher: Having just returned from a visit in Fairbury, Livingston Co., IL, I found a Wm. and Mary Gouge tombstone at Graceland Cemetery. I wrote down the dates on the tombstone for you; please e-mail me. (I am the one that e-mailed you about John and Genevieve Gouge with their children's names. Wm. and Mary Gouge are my husband's great-grandparents--in more ways than one. William and Judah Gouge were the parents of Mary Alice Gouge, and Mary Carson Gouge and Henry Clay Carson were the parents of Clarence Elmer Carson, John's grandparents. Isn't that something? We have been to Graceland Cemetery and have photos of Wm. and Mary's graves. And....a few months ago, we found James and Eliza Carson, John's great-grandparents, in the Patty Cemetery. I do want to check out your John and Genevieve Gouge when I get time to get involved with genealogy again. I'm sure they must at least be cousins. Thanks for your information.
