    3. ...notes from Streator Daily Times-Press, Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1954 Rites Thursday For Mrs. Bean. ..Mrs. Pearl Patterson Bean, 81 of 214 South Sterling St., who died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday ...will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday the the Elias funeral home, burial to follow in Riverview cemetery. ..Surviving Mrs. Bean are two daughters, Mrs. Yolanda Gould, Chicago, and Mrs. Pearl (Lorn?) Kinson of Eureka. There are four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her husband, Warren Ross Bean, former publisher of the Daily Monitor in Streator for many years and to whom she was married June 18, 1893, preceded her in death, as did a brother, Earl Patterson, and a sister, Mrs. Mez Beth. Mrs. Bean was the last of her family. The daughter of Robert I. and Mary LeFauvre patterson, she was born June 6, 1873 at Muncie, Ind. and had resided in Streator for 52 years. She was a member of the Park Presbyterian church and the Daughter of Union Veterans. As a young woman, Mrs. Bean attained considerable recognition as a reader, having appeared before Presidents Cleveland and Harrison. She was a member of the Honorary Iron Brigade, probably the most famous of the Civil War, and an Adopted Daughter of the 19th Indiana, 2nd and 4th Wisconsin and 4th Michigan brigades. She became noted for her recitation of poems by her father who was Soldier Poet Laureate of Indiana, and was an honorary member and adjutant of Streator Post, G.A.R. Joanie
