    3. I have not had any luck finding Livingston County, IL information on the web. It seems internet genealogy has not taken hold there. I started my family search at the Newberry Library by sending for a surname search of the IL Death Index. This is for deaths over 50 years ago. It cost $7.00. The web site is at http://www.newberry.com. This gave me birth and death dates. I then sent for the certificates. This in turn gave me addresses where they lived, relatives and addresses of those present at the time the death certificate was filled out and cemetary locations. Since my relatives were buried at the Chatsworth Cemetary I wrote to Verda Gerwick. Her address is: Lexington Genealogy and Historical Society, Inc. 318 W. Main St. Lexington, IL 61753 The secret to getting Verda's assistance is to send a SASE, ask for specific info, be grateful and send her a check. For a cemetary listing of a surname I sent $10.00. This got me a burial location, more dates, relatives buried next to them and some- times an obit. She does not have obits that ran only in the Chatsworth newspapers. I have been unable to find cemetary listings for this area anywhere else. I also have found that if you email the Newberry about where to find info on a particular group (nurses or miners) they can point you in the right direction. You will need a specific location and time period. IRAD has numerous listings on coal mining. I don't know if they are in Livingston or not. Diane Poway, CA
