Hi all, Thanks to Amy and Unicorn for the info on Cousins Marrying Cousins, but I really do believe that I have two different Sam Kings on my hands here. The main reason is that two different family narratives have come down to us. One, who is presumed to be the son of Samuel Koenig, was born after the family had moved from Holmes County, Ohio to Moultrie County, Illinois, but before they moved to Tazewell County in 1843. It is possible he was born in Ohio (if they made a trip back home in-between), but it is more likely he was born in Illinois. (see http://users.erols.com/gpuccini/KingFamily/PekinSamKing.htm where I identify Samuel Koenig as "Pekin" Sam King). The other, according to a biographical sketch written by a granddaughter (see http://users.erols.com/gpuccini/KingFamily/SamKing.htm ) did not arrive in Illinois until the early 1850's and was apparently in McLean County briefly circa 1860 before marrying in 1863 and eventually moving to Forrest. It could be that one or both of the narratives contain errors, so this is all speculation until we can find some other proof to confirm. If anyone out there has any info about either one of these gentleman, I would be most happy to learn of it. Thanks, Stan
