Is anyone working on the Walton families of Livingston Co.? My grandmother Maude, born 1891, was an adoptee and the natural daughter of Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Walton, born c. 1867. Lizzie had an older daughter Maggie. All three checked into the Livingston Co. Poor Farm from Reading Twp. at the end of 1891. Maude was given up for adoption in March 1892 to John and Sarah (Umphenour) Welch. John supplied produce, etc. to the Poor Farm. After Maude was adopted, Lizzie and Maggie checked out of the Poor Farm and vanished. A Mary Elizabeth Walton, age 24, of Bloomington, McLean Co., daughter of John George Walton and Jane Smailes, married Arthur Campbell, son of Hugh and Sarah Campbell, on 23 Nov 1892 at St. Matthews Church, Bloomington (Marriage Book J, page 310, #9826).
