PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS. I recieved a virus when I opened an email that was in response to one of my rootsweb queries. I did NOT have to open the attachment! This virus is called: W32.Badtrans.13312@mm and attacks your exe files. NOTE: McAfee DID NOT find this virus. Damage was done before I installed my Norton. Norton found it and repaired. Since it came through Rootsweb and I had only to open the response to my query, I can't tell you how to avoid it. However, I use Outlook Express email and my email program sent and resent my own mail to me over and over. Other people have recieved mail from me that the virus sent out automatically from my address book. WORSE YET, it went to people NOT in my address book and that I have never had any contact with. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has cause anyone - it appears to be random and unavoidable. Someone has found a way to infiltrate our wonderful Rootsweb system but I think it's time Rootsweb did something about it. If some of our server's programs can catch this virus, as I'm hearing back, I would think Rootsweb could too. Shirl
