    3. This is probably not a factor in your search Karen but since Pontiac was mentioned in one of your replies I wanted to mention that there was a large Close family in Pontiac and I seem to remember some in Odell. There was a son named Ramone who died of cancer in his early 20s who had a wife named Beverly and a baby daughter. I worked with both of them. This was about 1957. Dottie

    3. Thanks Dottie - I will keep this on record as it may all fit in some day. Until I find out more on who the boys married, and their children, I can't say one way or the other, who belongs to whom. We are still sorting through the Illinois Marriage Index trying to decide which marriage might be the right time for each of the children, and then ordering the marriage applications and certificates for each. I wrote to the Clerk of Livingston County, and asked again if there were any Return of Marriage cert's to go with the three marriage cert's that I received and she said that they re-checked and still nothing attached to the Marriage cert. She was very nice about it. We ordered two more and there WERE return of marriage cert's attached to them so it did prove that our family was in Emington, Illinois, in the mid to late 1800's. Six out of their 14 children that we know of, now have been accounted for. We have a ways to go yet. Thanks again. I appreciate the help. - Karen ----- Original Message ----- From: Dorothy Nanninga Sewell <dsewell@alaska.net> To: <ILLIVING-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 06, 2001 12:34 PM Subject: Re: [ILLIVING] CLOSE family from Emington, Illinois. > This is probably not a factor in your search Karen but > since Pontiac was mentioned in one of your replies I > wanted to mention that there was a large Close family in > Pontiac and I seem to remember some in Odell.
