    1. [ILLIVING] Simon Frankenfield Marriage record info
    2. Julius Drone
    3. Fellow listers, I have need of your council, memory / records or leg work. Living in the Rural California Mojave Desert makes research in Illinois tough. I need the Parental info of one Simon Frankenfield. It may well be found on his Illinois application for marriage to Angelina Henninger. I have scanned the following page and snipped off that which addressed other persons. This so that you will have as much info as I have on Simon and the source of that info. History of Mason County (Illinois) page 760 ~~~~~~~~~~~~ snip ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "SIMON FRANKINFINFIELD retired. Havana; was born in Lehigh Co., Penn., July 24, 1823, but removed to Clarion Co., that State, when about 14 years of age. In 1841, he came West, and on May 5, of that year, located in Havana Township, Mason Co.,where he engaged in farming, which occupation he followed about four years; he then removed to Havana, and worked at tailoring, having learned the trade before coming West. He subsequently followed farming, but since 1864 has resided at, Havana, and, from 1866 to 1876, was engaged in the dry-goods business. He was married Sept,. 3, 1846, to Miss Angeline. daughter of Reuben Henninger; she was born in Pennsylvania. Mr. F. is a member of the following Masonic bodies: Havana Lodge, No. 88; Havana Chapter, No. 86, and Damascus Commandery, No. 42." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ snip ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Page 516 & 517 Reuben Henninger, Philip Opp and SIMON FRANKENFIELD came from the old Quaker State of Pennsylvania. ................ Frankenfield settled in this township in 1841, where he followed farming for years, when he removed to the city of Havana, and engaged in tailoring, a trade he had learned in Pennsylvania. He again turned his attention to farming until 1864, when he returned to the city, and from 1866 to 1876, was engaged in the dry-goods business, from which he retired, and is now living at his ease. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ snip ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Julius Drone

    3. Following the terrorist attacks on U.S. soil September 11, 2001, the two-year-old "Klingerman Virus" email hoax was resurrected on the Net, apparently because the specifics of the story resemble a germ warfare scenario. In one new variant the name of the foundation supposedly sending out contaminated sponges by mail in blue (or yellow) packages has morphed to "Kinderman," but otherwise the text is very similar to the original. Below is our May 2000 commentary on the earliest version of the hoax.

    1. [ILLIVING] "Long Form" Marriage info
    2. Hello, Hope you all are doing well. I have been advised by my local Family History Center to request the "long form" of the marriage record of my great-grandparents Ignatius HECKMAN and Maggie O'MALLEY who were married in Fairbury, IL in 1873. I have a copy of the certificate from the Livingston County Courthouse in Pontiac. What I now need is more detail to continue my research on how Ignatius came to America. I have census info that he was born in France as were his parents. I am hoping to find out at least his parents' names. Can anyone advise me on the best, most reliable source to write to for this information? Thank you for your help. Best to all. 1. [ILLIVING] Carson and Gouge
    2. hi, The GOUGE name is in the long list of Livingston County surnames of families in my family tree as my father's first cousin, Evelyn (Tope) Elizabeth CARTER md Garnold RIGSBY and Chloe Kay RIGSBY was her neice. Chloe Kay RIGSBY (b in Fairbury aft 1920) md a GOUGE and was living in Rantoul, IL, in May of this year. Chloe is the daughter of Gilbert C RIGSBY & Ada BUTTON and the sister of James Hartzell RIGSBY, per the 17May2001 obit of James which was published in the Bloomington Pantagraph (i didn't copy the obit, just extracted this info from it). Possibly someone on this list knows how you can go about contacting Mary Francis GLENNON, the widow of James RIGSBY? My 1985 phone listing for her is Hartzel RIGSBY 206 E Ash, Fairbury...815-692-2871...Mary in turn may know of how her son-in-law Mr GOUGE fits into your family tree. In searching my collection of old phone directories the only listing that popped up was John GOUGE RR 1 Fairbury....815-692-2998 from a 1985 listing. Other areas searched with no results (from the early 80's) were Champaign, Ford and McLean Counties. You might find some clues on my web page at <A HREF="http://hometown.aol.com/illinoygenealogy/myhomepage/business.html"> Livingston County, Illinois, Genealogical Research</A> Lastly i recall the name GOUGE from over forty years ago and think Joe was his first name... think he lived or farmed south of Fairbury near a bridge that washed out in the early 80's, possibly on the road the passes the old Spence homestead that had a large boulder in the front yard commemorating the first white girl born in Livingston County... yet my memory may not be correct on this. happy hunting dennis in reply to: In a message dated 9/24/01 3:03:24 PM Pacific Daylight Time, ILLIVING-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: << X-Message: #3 Date: Mon, 24 Sep 2001 10:35:43 -0500 From: "John & Carolyn Carson" <jcarson@indy.tds.net> To: ILLIVING-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <001b01c1450e$93a4e300$7233abd0@carson> Subject: [ILLIVING] Carson and Gouge Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Is anyone else out there researching the families of James R. I would love to exchange information with anyone else researching these families. Carolyn >>

    1. [ILLIVING] RE: Multiple Sam Kings in Forrest in the late 19th century?
    2. Stan Wrobel
    3. Hi all, Thanks to Amy and Unicorn for the info on Cousins Marrying Cousins, but I really do believe that I have two different Sam Kings on my hands here. The main reason is that two different family narratives have come down to us. One, who is presumed to be the son of Samuel Koenig, was born after the family had moved from Holmes County, Ohio to Moultrie County, Illinois, but before they moved to Tazewell County in 1843. It is possible he was born in Ohio (if they made a trip back home in-between), but it is more likely he was born in Illinois. (see http://users.erols.com/gpuccini/KingFamily/PekinSamKing.htm where I identify Samuel Koenig as "Pekin" Sam King). The other, according to a biographical sketch written by a granddaughter (see http://users.erols.com/gpuccini/KingFamily/SamKing.htm ) did not arrive in Illinois until the early 1850's and was apparently in McLean County briefly circa 1860 before marrying in 1863 and eventually moving to Forrest. It could be that one or both of the narratives contain errors, so this is all speculation until we can find some other proof to confirm. If anyone out there has any info about either one of these gentleman, I would be most happy to learn of it. Thanks, Stan
