Gwen, I went back to look up what country HE stood for on the Chelly listing I gave you. The SW on John is for Switzerland, the HE on Louisa is Hesse. They must be German. While checking the index I found one more I missed: Mission Twp, PO Neward: House 144-143 MILLER, Dyson family -- farmer, wife and 7 children, 1 hired girl, and CHELLEY, Lambert 17, M NO (Which is Norway!) farm laborer Might be your line? I suggest you contact the LaSalle Genealogy Guild. They have lots on births, deaths, obits, marriage records, wills, etc. Check their website, http://www.genealogy.org/~dpc/ or give them a call at (815) 433-5261 to see what they can do for you. They were a big help to me.
