Mary, and Kate: I also have Riley ancestors (including a couple of Kates!) from LaSalle County. Kate or Catherine/Katherine Riley, also spelled O'Riley, daughter of James Riley and Sarah Dowling, married Matthew Reid in Ottawa 23 May 1871. Matthew died in 1878. They had 3 children, Annie, Thomas and Sarah (Sadie). On rare occasion this name shows up as Reilly. Any connection?
