I haven't been able to find Peru Township in the 1850 census (what a mess, it keeps jumping from one township or town then to another and then back), but there may be a second reel that was in use when I looked. I still haven't found anything to connect my Corrigan-Conelly with your Corrigan-Conelly, but I may go to Livingston and LaSalle Counties in September to check out records there.
