Samuel Gordon was b.1837 in PA. He married Susan McDowell in 1859 in LaSalle Co. They had at least 9 children (who were still living when Samuel died in 1912). According to Samuel's obituary, he was survived by Mrs. Jacob Mott of Langler, OK; Frank Gordon, of Hermit, CA; Mrs Frank (Emma) Fishburn of S. Ottawa; Mrs David(Rebecca) Hunter of Grand Ridge; Mrs. George (Mary E.) Kelly of Marceilles; George Gordon of Ottawa, Wiley, John and Ophilia of Utica.
