IRAD at NIU in DeKalb has Probate Administrator's Records, Appraisement Records, Guardian's Records, Inventory Records, Probate Records, and Will Records, all for 1862. They charge only for copies made. If you want to search for yourself, LDS has film for LaSalle Co. Probate Minutes. 1862 would be on Film #1428679. Those minutes then refer to the other types of records (inventory, will, etc.) as necessary. LDS also has many of those records on film. If you live anywhere near a Family History Center, the search-it-yourself method is more rewarding!
