Hi Will, As a visitor myself to FHC, there is no such thing as an idiot. The staff is willing and ready to help all who come to do genealogy. There is microfilm and fisch plus books and computers for looking in a multitude of IGI and Vital Statistic CD's. They have information that you can not believe! Plan to spend at least 2-3 hours your first trip to FHC. Make sure you scope out a volunteer to help start you on your research. Most have census and soundex information for your local area. I have been waiting here in Oregon for 5 weeks for a Chicago Census!!! You are lucky to live where you are searching. We have bunches for Oregon.
