    1. RE: [ILLASALLE] Why can't I find CLYDE TOMBAUGH?
    2. I heard the Koontz school is still "standing." Before you get to the Kangley turnoff, on the north side of the road, there is a horse pasture. Next to the large barn is supposed to be the old school. They made the door bigger to get equipment in. I wonder if it is true. La Salle Co. has a one room school, but if this is the building is the Koontz school, it would be nice if it could be saved. Of course, I have always wanted an outhouse for the Streator museum. Good Grief, I hope none of the board members are on this list. 3. As far as I know, the Koontz school is no longer standing. I believe it was sold and taken down. I have many fond memories of my school days there. We lived 4 mi west of Streator and 1 1/2 mi. south Koontz was on the north South road.. and I lived just South 1/2 mi from the school with my Grandparents ---David And Winifred Fraser Holmes. The house is still there and I have a first cousin who lives there now and they have done much to update the house.. That house was built from a church that once stood out in that area not too far away. I was a Goslin and perhaps some of you remember the Goslin Drug Store in Streator which were my uncles and their other 2 brothers had a Goslin Drug Store in Mendota, IL of which the one was my father Alfred Goslin. The Lightholder Lumber in Streator was owned by John Lightholder and his wife was my gr. aunt(Blanche Holmes) Janet bluejay201@mchsi.com wrote: I heard the Koontz school is still "standing."
