Thanks, Joanie ...from Streator Daily Free Press Monday, June 22, 1895 MRS. TONY PRENDERGAST DEAD. A dispatch was received here at noon today from San Antonio, Texas, announcing the death at that place of Mrs. Tony Prendergast. The particulars were not given. Mrs. Prendergast was a victim of that dread disease, consumption, and last March she went to Texas in hope that a change of climate would prove beneficial, but the disease had too much hold on her and her death was only a question of time. Although her death was expected, yet the sad news was a severe shock to her many friends here. The deceased was a most estimable woman, about 25, years of age, and leaves a husband and one child, the latter about a year old, to mourn their great loss. It is not known whether the remains will be brought here for burial, or taken to the home of her parents near Keokuk.
