That's OK! I just wanted to make sure we were talking about the same place. Father Phil was ordained in Peoria in 1901. I know that he was an assistant at IC to Father O'Kelly in October, 1901 because he is so listed in his mother's obit (Elizabeth Duggan Walsh). By 1905, when his father, John Walsh, died, he was IC's pastor. He died in 1970 in Spring Valley and is buried there at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. That parish, which I cannot recall the name of right now, dedicated their parish hall in his name. He was born in 1875 in Eagle township. My dad has all of the hard core details. I can check with him if you would like more info. Just let me know. Marcia
Thank you, I would really appreciate any further information. Sometimes it is even difficult to get recent information. I could not remember when Father Cahill died. Searched obituaries, I even called Peoria, nothing. Couldn't even find a death certificate. Imagine, a priest for over 50 years, a pastor at St. Mary's for over 20 years and I could not find him. One day, I was talking to my cousin, "Father Cahill died in Canada, visiting St. Ann's Shrine." She knew because she had driven him up there. Thanks, Joanie [email protected] wrote: > > That's OK!
