Thanks to everybody who responded about Shabbona. I found a picture of the monument on the DeKalb county site. Still have not found a picture of statue. Seems to me there was a small museum in that area. Anyone know the hours or phone number? Or directions. I do know there are two parks. A relative came down from Chicago for a picnic, went to the wrong one. The postings about the early settlers has been very interesting. Is there a site for La Salle County History? A site with a short article, a picture or two, and contacts/links from more information. The DeKalb site was really great. Thanks again, Joanie
