Hi List, Re email from Susan Dobson about writing to the cemetery. Yes, I am pretty sure Nellie McGrath Rice Schultz would be buried in the Riley (Reilly) cemetery which is connected with the Sacred Heart Church in Rutland. I understand that part of Rutland is in LaSalle, but the cemetery is in Marshall. I have also been told that Marshall Co. Historical Society has a list of those buried in it, but it is no use my writing to them as they do not respond to inquiries. I don't know if Sacred Heart Church is still an active church, as it served a very small community. Joy
Greetings from Streator, I tried to call the office in Peoria, the number would not ring. Would you believe the whole "309" is busy. Anyway, Sacred Heart Parish is now of Mission of St. Ann's in Toluca. Father Kretz is the pastor. That number is 815-452-2043. The secretary gave me instructions on how to get to Reilly Cemetery, but, you can't drive into the cemetery. Apparently there is some sort of chain or cable across the entrance. Maybe someone in the area could try to find her grave. I am not really up to walking thru cemeteries yet.
