    3. Hi List, In searching I find this 1860 Mortality listing for who I believe to be my GGGrandmother's brother Alfred COLLINS. COLLINS, Alfred G. Ottawa, age 11, m, Ohio, May, Struck by lightning, Instant. Brown, Ripley census, as follows. >> In 1850 OH, Brown, Ripley, Union >> 490-494 >> James Collins 43 M Carpenter Ohio (est YOB 1807 >> Mariah 43 f Ohio >> Prudence 18 f Ohio >> Nathaniel 17 Wool Spinner Ohio >> Nancy 15 f Ohio >> James B? 12 m Ohio >> Eliza M? 8 f Ohio >> Alferd 1 m Ohio 1860 finds James COLLINS in Ottawa, LaSalle, IL, he's 52 est yob is 1807, born Ohio and he is a carpenter, Nathaniel COLLINS 28 est yob 1831 Ohio, he is a carpenter and single. Eliza COLLINS 20 est yob 1839 Ohio, she is House Keeper and single. Mariah is not with them, nor is Alfred/Alferd, Nancy nor James the sons and dau and the wife. There is no marriage record for James to Mariah in Brown Co. OHIO, nor is there a burial found for Mariah in Brown Co., Ripley. ? is what happened to Mariah. Did she die on the way to ILL, perhaps in ILL? There is a marriage of a James COLLINS to Elizabeth BROOKBANK for Dec 23 1832 for Brown Co., OH but since Prudence is already 18 in the 1850 that can't be the right James COLLINS. Prudence is born Oct 1831 according to family records and certainly by 1832. By 1870 ILL, LaSalle census James is married to Grase (Grace (RED) and that is on IRAD), 08/16/1860 C / 1125 LA SALLE COLLINS, JAMES RED, GRACE (MRS) I know that my GGGrandmother Prudence COLLINS marries GGGrandfather Horace BECKWITH July 1, 1852 in LaSalle. I have found two siblings of Prudence nee COLLINS BECKWITH in Montana, (Nathaniel and Eliza M COLLINS) and know who they married etc. I haven't been able to locate the daughter Nancy, nor the son James so hope that someone might lend me a hand with a cemetery look up, something to see where Alfred COLLINS is buried and if there are any family members with him? I suspect, but don't know, that both Nancy and James may have died as well prior to the 1860 census? Any bits of information would sure be a help. Regards, Barb in Iowa
