I'm so glad you mentioned Starved Rock - my parents spent their honeymoon there, but that was over 50 years ago, so I wasn't sure what the status was. I will indeed take a membership in the Guild, and have high hopes of breaking down a few brick walls. Now I must gather my courage - I know there are still descendants of my g-grandfather, Adam Sheblia, living in LaSalle. Their branch of the family goes by Shebilla as a surname, and I have found addresses for them while searching online. I'd like to write them, but am worried they will think me odd. We also evidently have another branch, the Grusks, with whom my aunt keeps in touch, so that I will leave to her.
