You don't have to join the LaSalle County Genealogy Guild to do research there. They are open on Monday and Saturday from 9 to 4 and other days if you call ahead. The phone number is 815 433 5261. You might want to go to the LaSalle Library, They may have some information. There are no motels between LaSalle and Ottawa. There are 3 or 4 motels in Peru and a Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Super 8 and Hampton Inn in Ottawa. LaSalle and Ottawa are only about 15 miles apart. While in LaSalle you might want to visit the Hegeler-Carus mansion. They are redoing it and it is very nice on the outside. It is hugh and 4 stories tall. I'm not sure what days it is open. Consider staying in Streator! I stayed in the home of a friend there but maybe someone could suggest motels in Streator. It's a wonderful town, full of friendly helpful people. I love that town. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jenan Jobst To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2003 12:09 AM Subject: Re: [ILLASALLE] Planning a Research Trip You don't have to join the LaSalle County Genealogy Guild to do research there.
