Sometimes I think that some of the people on the list may derive benefit from searching the 1880 U.S. census that the LDS church placed online last October. It has certainly helped me find some people I was having difficulty tracking. Go to: http://www.familysearch.org Click on the census link on the left side of the home page. On the next page, select the 1880 U.S. census in the top box. You can then customize searches in many different ways and it won't take long to teach yourself. Notice that you can search for a specific spelling or for soundalikes. Also, you can use the next and previous links to search for neighbors (and maybe relatives) of a specific household. The information usually provides the state or country of birth for the individual and their parents. Good luck! - Adele/Seattle
