Barb-- I went to the Ancestry.com site and did not log in, but I did a search on a name I knew of in the 1880 census, and though the home page said "Free," it still required me to sign up for a paid subscription to view the image. Then I logged in and tried again and got the same message. Some kind of disconnect going on here.
