Dear Gwen, If you have access to 1880 Illinois Census, Il, LaSalle County, Dist 76 page 452b you will find Andrew Hayer age 64 from Norway and his wife Helen Hayer age 34 also from Norway They are living in family 116/119 with her mother Danels, Sarah age 7, mo-in-iaw and Danels, Donelson age 36, br-in-law. I feel certain the ages are mixed up for the last two. There are lots of Norwegians on this page and several other Hayer families. If you don't have a access to either a computer where you can get the info from Ancestry.com on a two week trial membership (free) or at or a library which has Census records, I"ll copy this page and post it to you, so you'll need to send your postal address.
