John, Not rockin' your boat...buuuuuuut, the reason that I phrased it that way was because my husbands GG Grandfather - on EVERY census record - gave his place of employment as "Zinc Mine" as did all his male relatives... My Father in law also has a diary of sorts that has been passed down with references to all males of the family working in the zinc mines. I'm not disputing your assertion - however, it's obviously hard to break out of a certain mind set and phraseology (is that even a word? LOL) that has been around the family for so many years..
