Hello, I'm a new subscriber to the list and have been appreciative of the interesting sharing among the members. I am searching for information about my 2nd great grandparents. Zofia and Michal Ratajczak immigrated in 1881 from Posen, Prussia. They lived in LaSalle durin the 1880s and 1890s. Michal worked also at the Matthiessen and Hegeler Zinc Works; he is listed in the LaSalle 1886 directory. He died in Dec.1891 according to probate documents signed by his wife Zofia. I can find no record of his death in LaSalle. Zofia remarried Joseph Emmerling in 1894 and they are listed as living at Otter Creek in the 1900 census. By 1910, Joseph is a widower living with his daughter in Spring Valley. I am also looking for a record or obituary for Zofia Ratajczak Emmerling. Thank you. jacki rose
