Joanie, Thanks for your reply. I now have information regarding this family. I was hoping that I could find out what happened to Walter's sister Kate as well, but I have no idea who she married, where she married or if she even did marry or any place of death. Yes, Walter's parents were Edward and Julia. A son died and he is buried in Gridley near Walter and Leora. Walter's sister's family is buried in the same plot as well. Ada Hampton Raney, her husband John Raney and their children Zora and Walter are buried next to Walter and Leora. Edward and Julia are also buried at Gridley some distance from the younger Hampton. Julia's mother Mary Vert is also buried nearby. I just recently became aware of the relationships between these folks. One census states that Julia had 7 children with only 3 surviving. Her first husband and son are also buried in Gridley. Just such sad circumstances that there were so many young children's deaths. Thanks again for your help.
