Lostlands, west of Kangley, was the first Catholic cemetery in the area. St. Mary's is the oldest in the City of Streator. It started about 1878. Others are: St. Anthony's, German; Old (and) New St. Stephen's, Slovak and Rusin; and St. Casimir's, Polish. There are also Catholics buried in the Russian Orthodox cemetery. Also, some of the earlier burials were in Ottawa.
