Looking for my Maier family: More information and Finding relatives. My Mayer-Maier (Betra, Prussia now Germany ). Changed to Mier (US-teacher dropped a letter when oldest child of oldest son of Joseph Valentine Maier went to school in RI, IL.). The family came from Betra on 7 May 1866 and went to Ottawa, LaSalle Co.,IL. and then to Rock Island IL before 1880 as one of the children married there. Older children stayed or went back to Ottawa- Can't find family of Antonia who was 16 when they immigrated 7 May 1866 on ship BoRussia. Also info on other children.
