That is just about the same time my gg-grandfather would have settled in Mendota! We have him purchasing a bit of land there in 1848 and a child being born in Ireland in 1845, so I figure he must have made the migration sometime during those three years 45-48. His name was Thomas MEATH b. 1810 in Ireland wife Anna M (SHERIDAN) MEATH b 1823 in Ireland They had a number of children, at least four or five born in Illinois, including my grandfather - Thomas b. 1854 all birthdates have been calculated according to Illinois census' for 1850-60-70 ... so they might be off by a year I had heard from someone that Thomas and Anna (and other family members) were buried in Holy Cross Cemetary, but I'm unsure as to what to do with this information. The person also thought either Thomas or Anna had where they were born in Ireland on their tombstone. I contacted the only Catholic church in town to see what information I could get through them, but was told that I would have to go in to sort through the information. I'm in Texas so not close enough to just hop in the car and go, but I am trying to plan a trip there for this summer. I'd like to go armed with as much information already gathered as possible. Any ideas you have on where to go from here would be greatly appreciate. I'm looking for information regarding Frank Wesley Hogue, as well as James M. Corrie. Frank was born in 1869, probably in New York, and moved to LaSalle county about 1902. He was married to Marietta Henderson, and they had 8 children. Their daughter Lila married James M. Corrie, they had approximately 11 children. James was married before Lila, to an Ida Herrold. They had 3 children, Charlotte, Herrold and George. If anyone has extended information on these families please contact me. Thank You! ms2000@megsinet.net OR AT msmith74@yahoo.com

Hello everyone, I am new to the list and am hoping someone will recognize this family. My wife's great-grandparents are Stephen and Esther Biro, and they moved here to South Bend from Streator IL some time around 1895. They were Hungarian immigrants, and I am wondering if they appear in anyone's database in the Streator area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know how long they lived there, but some of the older children remained in Illinois when the parents came to Indiana. Thanks in advance, Scott. -- Scott Gring 828 E. George Prentice my ggg (?) grandfather's wife Cynthia Smead and his children, Prescott, Chancey and Sophia moved to Utica, Illinois some time between 1860 and 1870. Cynthia lived in 3 centuries being born 1797and died 1901. I know she is buried in Utica, Ill. We are looking for their descendants. From what we were told my grandfather left the Baptist church to please his bride and their children were not allowed to play, meet, etc with their Baptist cousins and the Baptists side had the same restrictions. Lets bring down the walls and get to know each other. Thank you, Al Salz salzaeck@mtco.com
