Hi Barb I don't have the census your talking of, but I did find the Carter name listed in the book "Ottawa Old and New", no Levi though. Let me know if your interested in this listing. Surnames assoc. with Carter: Barton, Gunschein , Roginson, and Pooler. Hi Wayne, The La Salle Gen. Guild does have city directories for that time period. If you will be in the area, you may want to stop by and do a look up. Sharon Los Angeles
WELL THANKS TOM!
Tom thanks for the look-up. Was there a family listed with L. Carter in Earl, 1855? Barb I found a L. Carter in Earl in the 1855 Illinois State Census. He is listed as between 40 and 50 years old. I can not find him in the 1860 census. There is a Deborah Carter listed on the1860 census in Earl. She is listed as 50 years old and born in New York. This could possibly be the widow of Levi. I hope this helps. Could someone please find the address of my family when they lived in La Salle, County. My grandparents names were Robert MUIR and Maud MUIR. The children living with them at that time would have been Herbert, Floyd, Earl, Mary, Clyde, and possibly Doc. In the time period 1910-1914 they lived in Oglesby. Would the residence still be there? We'll be visiting in the area in a couple of weeks and would like to see where they lived. I don't know the easiest place to find the address, a city directory, tax data, 1910 census? I appreciate any help I get. Wayne Muir
Could someone out there, who has the 1850 IL census, do a look-up for me? I'm searching for Levi CARTER. The index that I read said - LA S (LaSalle?) page 382 town of Earl. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help. Barb
Just starting research on this family. What I have at this time is from a bio by his son that mainly covers the North Dakota experience. COOK, George, b 1847 London, ONT, CAN, naturalized in 1857, served in Co. C 147 IL Vol Inf, m 1876 Mary OLANKEL in Piper City, IL. In 1882 the family, including daughter Angie, moved to Page, ND. The Illinois State Archive Civil War site lists: COOK, George Co C 147 Vol Inf Asbury Any information or suggestions for resources on this family will be appreciated. There was a judge by the name of Cook around the 1900's in Ottawa. I can look up the exact name if you are interested. Sharon Los Angeles
RE: REDMAN In 1967, Dale Hogue married a Carole Ann Redman. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David A. Redman of Midlothian. Carole was a graduate of Wesley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Dale was in the army, and after worked, in Chicago. They were married in Midlothian. I don't know if this is your line, but I thought I'd take a chance and see if it would help you. Good Luck, Melanie Smith

I'm looking for information about the following families. I'll apologize in advance for the long message. =) I am a descendant of the Hogue and Corrie families, on my grandmothers side. I started my search about mid-January, after being intrigued by a chart of a family (pedigree?) tree that was my boyfriends grandfathers history.... Anyways, I have about 180 names into my family tree maker, and I desire more. Stories too. My main people are Frank and Marietta (Mary) Henderson Hogue. Also, James M. Corrie who married my gg aunt Lila Hogue. However, James was first married to Ida Herrold, I believe she died after the birth of her 3rd child. I would like to find any info I can about these families. Here's some stats.... Frank Hogue b. June 3, 1869 d. 1953---Marietta Henderson b. Oct. 22, 1879 d.1939----they were married in 1897, they had 8 children, one girl died at 3 days old. They moved to LaSalle County, IL from Schenectady and New Berlin, NY. _____________ In Marshall Co. there was a Margaret Hogue, "Oldest Tree Farmer", however, I don't have the publication date of the newspaper article. -----Mrs. Margaret Hogue..., she is 91. Six years ago she contacted the Illinois Division of Forestry. Ernest W. Kunze, farm forester at Charleston, visited the tract and suggested that it be put under tree farm management. Mrs. Hogue agreed. The volume for removal was only 8000 board feet; it was used on the farm for building repairs. But the big job was the timber stand improvement work: another over-all part of a sound forest management plan recommended by the forester. I would like to find Margaret's connection to my family, if there is one. I don't suppose my great grandmother would have put this article in the scrapbook if it didn't have some significance. Now, James M. Corrie. b. 1871 d. 1941---Lila Hogue b. March 6, 1902 d. April 1975---Ida Herrold b.1879-1920.. don't have wedding dates for either. James and Ida had 3 children. James and Lila had about 10 children. James and Lila moved to California at some point, but they are buried in Marseilles, IL cemetary. Other... Vet Hogue and Isabelle Northrup Hogue... lived in Rock Island(E. Moline) and Lasalle counties... is Vet a brother to Frank??? John Corrie, I have a 50th wedding np article... trying to find out if he is a brother to James M. Art. says... they were m. Sept. 10, 1907 in Vandalia, they are farmers, lived in Tuscola and Deland before living in McLean Co., they operated Corrie Turkey farm until 1955... one son Ervin E., of Chenoa, and five grandchildren.. I would appreciate any encouraging info... Thanks a million... Melanie Smith

Hi. I am interested in any information on Polish immigrants in LaSalle County in the decade between 1870-1880. I am especially interested in the surname Michalski. I understand this family and others were among the founding families of St. Hyacinth Church, approximately 1875. Any suggestions on where to email, call or write for information appreciated as I am doing this long distance. Tx Marge
