    1. Re: [ILLASALL-L] Re: Death Certificates
    2. Lois---I am doing my greatgrandfather, Philip Charles GREENWOOD. I have him in DeKalb Co. in 1860; the family is on the 1865 Squaw Grove, DeKalb Co. census. His first wife Margret Leacock Greenwood died Feb. 1865 after having William. On the LaSalle 1870 Census, I found Philip, Lucetta (Setta)the second wife, David age 9(my grandfather)and Joseph 4/12 yr. They were in Northville TWP; P.O. Sandwich; LaSalle Co. Philip had Jenny, whom I found on the 1870 DeKalb Census living with the Leacocks(maternal grandparents), but I cannot find Mary age 11 and William age 5. Where would these two children have been in 1870? The DeKalb 1879 Index does not have Mary or William. Thanks. Betty

However, if I could have someone look up some info for me, it'd certainly give my another step forward. Detailed info to follow if there is someone to do it. 1. [ILLASALL-L] Richmond Family
    2. Hello: My Richmond family (Josiah and Amy) moved to Lasalle County from West Virginia ca. 1870. I think his father and mother (John and Isabella) wound up there too, but did not seem to live with Josiah. Haven't checked census for daughter Annie Richmond Woodburn and husband Darwin Woodburn. Anyway have been unable to find the senior Richmonds in IL census because (if I am correct) that census only listed folks with small children living in the household. I think mother (Isabella Richmond) may have died there. Does anyone have a death index for Lasalle County? Appreciate any advice. Thanks, Maureen

    3. Dear Ms Vin, If I had an ancestor name of Canute, I would also be searching for Knute which is the Scandinavian interpretation and Newt which seems English. It is all the same name. Best of luck. 2. Don Curristan
    3. Dear Barb I have many family members who settled in the area of Northville Township/Somonauk Village. If Adolf and his wife Adeline were Catholic, they most likely would have belonged to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located in Somonauk. If Adeline died in the area, she may have been buried in the Catholic cemetery located in Section 6 of Northville Township. When I had the rare opportunity to visit the cemetery last month I did notice quite a few headstones that said the family came from Alsace. This cemetery and associated church records (birth/marriages) are available on microfilm with the LDS Family History Centers. Also, the LaSalle County Genealogy Guild will have the cemetery information. Melissa Mailander Curristan Ramona CA doncur@connectnet.com Researching: Mailander, Kuehlem, LaBolle, Mathis, Brignon, just to name a few; living in Northville, Peru, and Dana LaSalle County.

    1. [ILLASALL-L] THOMPSONS from Norway
    2. I am looking for relatives/descendants of Canute and Andrea (Anderson) Thompson, both of Norway, who were married in Leland, LaSalle County, Illinois, sometime between 1844-1858 (sorry for the vague window). They had seven children that I know of: Matilda (b. May, 1858) m. Hugh Henry (of Ireland) and had 4 children, 3 I can name: Walter Harold; Ruby F., and Lulu. [Note: Matilda went to in Muskegon, Michigan with daughter Ruby Gundy-1920s] Luddiak (b. 1863) - last known address (1913) West Plains, Howell County, Missouri August - last known address (1913) was Spokane, WA. Christian (b. May, 1854) m. Nikorina and had 3 children that I know of: Lawrence, Winnie F. and Margie [last known address (1913) was Warmann, Minnesota] Emma O. (born Jan, 1862) m.Frank B. Kimble had Warren & twins Lester and Leon [Emma died in West Plains, Missouri, but the SSDI shows the twins in Oregon] Isabell (Belle) m. William B. Fletcher, 1 child I know of--Lottie (could be Charlotte) [Last known address was West Plains, Howell County, Missouri, 1913] Delea (or one census has Lelea) m. Hurrmain Herrmann (German) no kids I know of [Last known address was West Plains, Howell County, Missouri, 1913) ************* There is a Canute Thompson listed in the LaSalle County Mortality Index as having died at age 50, in 1850. He was likely "my" Canute's father. This leads me to believe that Canute came to the US with his family, some of whom may have stayed in or near LaSalle County, IL. Anyone with information, please contact me. Thanks. Vin MsVin@aol.com (903) 870-9385
