Thank you, I would really appreciate any further information. Sometimes it is even difficult to get recent information. I could not remember when Father Cahill died. Searched obituaries, I even called Peoria, nothing. Couldn't even find a death certificate. Imagine, a priest for over 50 years, a pastor at St. Mary's for over 20 years and I could not find him. One day, I was talking to my cousin, "Father Cahill died in Canada, visiting St. Ann's Shrine." She knew because she had driven him up there. Thanks, Joanie [email protected] wrote: > > That's OK! Joanie, Is St. Mary's the same church as Immaculate Conception? Marcia
Hi, The Ransom Centennial Book has a large group picture of early 1900's business people. Among the men pictured is J. H. Shultz, but I don't know which one he is. ..from a half page history of the Hagi family ..Frank R. Hagi, son of Jacob, continued with his father's thriving business, and sons, Frank, Jr., and Ival were also Ransom businessmen. Jack has the Hagi Funeral Home in Streator. A daughter, Ruth (Reed) lives in Tennessee, and one daughter, Helen, is deceased. Is this your Helen that married Lester? Guilty as charged, SORRY. Immaculate Conception Church. I sometimes wish they would have left the name St. Michael's. I often wonder why they did call the church Immaculate Conception, when everything else is "St. Mary's". Of course, the parent church was "St. Mary's" in Wenona, and Kangley had its "St. Mary's". Just as a sidelight, the Father Walsh referred to in this obit is my Great-greatuncle, Philip Walsh, also a native of Eagle Township. Marcia Krivus
Terrific, Among my pet projects is a history of St. Mary's in Streator. Could you tell me a little about Father Walsh? Do you know when he was at St. Mary's? Where was he buried? I just asked about Nellie and realized what I had said made no sense since Nellie died before William was born. Allow me to start over. I am seeking further information about the Schultze family. Rev. John H. Schultze (1855-1911) was a minister in the German Evangelical Association, although it appears that when he lived in Ransom he had a grain silo business. His second wife, Louisa Baker (1865 - 1941) was the mother of Lester W. Schultze, born in Ransom in 1873, died when he last lived in Peoria in 1973. Lester m. Helen Hagi, and had a daughter, Luella E. Schultze. He later m. Bertha Williamson, and they had a son, William, in 1929. Tali in California

Greetings from Streator, I tried to call the office in Peoria, the number would not ring. Would you believe the whole "309" is busy. Anyway, Sacred Heart Parish is now of Mission of St. Ann's in Toluca. Father Kretz is the pastor. That number is 815-452-2043. The secretary gave me instructions on how to get to Reilly Cemetery, but, you can't drive into the cemetery. Apparently there is some sort of chain or cable across the entrance. Maybe someone in the area could try to find her grave. I am not really up to walking thru cemeteries yet. Hi List, Re email from Susan Dobson about writing to the cemetery. Yes, I am pretty sure Nellie McGrath Rice Schultz would be buried in the Riley (Reilly) cemetery which is connected with the Sacred Heart Church in Rutland. I understand that part of Rutland is in LaSalle, but the cemetery is in Marshall. I have also been told that Marshall Co. Historical Society has a list of those buried in it, but it is no use my writing to them as they do not respond to inquiries. I don't know if Sacred Heart Church is still an active church, as it served a very small community. Joy

Joanie, Sorry, I was misinformed on the date of Oscar's death. You searched for me a few weeks back and found nothing. The date of his death was January 22, 1957 - a day before his 70th birthday. He lived for Streator for 10 years so I imagine there was some type of obituary. Thanks for checking! Marguerite
