    1. [ILLASALLE] Bothwell/McGaffin 1850-1870
    2. I have been researching this surname for some time. Alexander McGaffin married Mary Jane Bothwell sometime between 1850 and 1860. Alexander was from Ireland. I don't know where Mary Jane was from. They lived in LaSalle County, Illinois. Mary died around 1870 and Alexander and their children moved to Iowa in 1873. This is from a biography of Alexander that I found in a book on Iowa. I am trying to find out more about Mary J. Bothwell. Who were her parents and where was she from? I haven't been able to find a trace of them in Illinois. Is anyone else out there researching these surnames? Kathy

    3. I'm looking for any information on Caleb Godfrey who settled in Earl in the 1850 census (cemetery listings). His daughter, Patience, who married Peter Putnam back in Jefferson, NY lived just a couple of houses away from her father. I pretty much have the Putnans researched, but I need more on the Godfreys, especially any Godfrey marrying into the Putnam family. Does any of this sound familiar?? Also, I've tried numerous times to get on the Godfrey-D-List without any results or confirmation. Suggestions, anyone? This is an important link for me. Thanks so much.
