2. Hello LaSalle County, Can anyone tell me whether the Carter Cemetery, located about 2 miles NE of Earlville is still in use? Is there a sexton that I could communicate with? Can anyone that lives nearby take a photo of a headstone there? I would be happy to reimburse expenses. I am interested in Catherine (Wandell) Richmond and any other Richmonds that might be buried close by. She died December 22, 1862 in Earlville and is buried in that Carter Cemetery. Her family moved on to Iowa where her husband is buried in Rhodes, Eden Cemetery (Marshall Co.) 2. There was a George Just with his family at LaSalle, LaSalle County, Illinois in the 1880 U.S. census which you can search online at: http://www.familysearch.org Select the census link on the left side of the home page, and select the 1880 U.S. census in the top box of the next page. Ask for Just in Illinois, and then select LaSalle for the county. This has been very helpful to me, and was placed online in October by the LDS church. Adele/Seattle

    3. Dear Listers, Is this a Roll Call for names of relatives? I'm looking for Carters, Martin Brooks, or Burgess Brooks, Steven W Brook m LauraEtta Craig 1891 issued 6 daughters. This family migrated to Clarion, Wright Co, IA (north central IA) in 1906. Kate Jane(#3 dau) was my grandmother. I studied the Mormon Trail in depth and the Hadley surname often appeared. I knew them as fellow students in my one room country school back in Guthrie Center, IA. I just signed up for Ancestry.com and will look your kin up. OK? My Martin Brooks left his land patent in Fountain Co, IN in 1870 and moved to LaSalle Co, settling in Grand Ridge, IL. They were farmers but often listed also as miners too. All fought in the CW Union side. Gggrandpa Burgess Brooks somehow traveled through Preble Co, OH and met grandma Caroline A Lock and they lived in Farmridge Township, LaSalle. She is bur there. On thier website they list hotels-motels in the area as well as other institutions that handle records. The County Clerks office was very informative as well and you can do a hand search. hereis the guilds site. index.html - LaSalle County Genealogy Guild Home Page
