    3. Dear List Members, More and more postings to this list are referring to people who are still living. Please, please, please, in the interest of those people DO NOT post anything regarding living people on the Internet!!! If you want to share that kind of information with another member of the list, please just email each other offlist. Even then, please make sure that you have permission from the person you're writing about before doing so. You've no doubt heard scare stories about identity theft on the Internet. Anyone with a computer and a modem can look at what you post online, not necessarily out of interest in genealogy. Among genealogists there is a convention called Gen 100, meaning that information is only shared regarding persons born at least 100 years ago--therefore, probably no longer living. Can we make that a standard for posting on this list? Sijncerely, Lynn

    3. Joan, Thanks! I am glad to hear that there is another obit. I hope it has a few more details than the one in Indiana. Do you have an index of the obits? If so, could you see if John's wife Elizabeth is on there. I have a year of death for her - 1923 - but that is all. If there is an index maybe I can at least get a month. Any help will be appreciated. Again, thanks for letting me know of John's obit. Jane Joan wrote: > > Hi, > > I am not able to get to the library for a while. 3. Hi, I am not able to get to the library for a while. The public library will look up the obituary for you. John Ward's obituary date is April 18, 1910, page 1 in the Streator Free Press Daily. He was 60 years old and buried in Indiana. 3. I have an ancestor, John Ward that was born April 11, in England and died April 17, 1910 in Cicero, Hamilton County, Indiana. He married in 1871 in Streator and spent most of his life in Streator. I sent to the Library in Cicero and obtained the following obit published in The Sheridan Newspaper on April 22, 1910. John Ward of Cicero, died Saturday night at the age of 60. A wife and three daughters constituted his immediate family. I am wondering if a much bigger obit for him was published in his hometown newspaper, since this is where he spent most of his lifetime and the rest of his family lived here. Would someone on this list be kind enough to check at the Streator Library for an obit for John Ward who died April 17, 1910. I would very much appreciate any help. Jane

    2. Waukegan is not in La Salle County; it is in Lake County, far to the north and east of La Salle County. It is on Lake Michigan almost at the Wisconsin line.

    1. Re: [ILLASALLE] Corrigan - Cassady - Feuerborn
    2. Joanie----It could be that Marie Magdalen FEUERBORN and Ella(FREEBORN)CORRIGA N are related. Do Dr. Cassaday and his wife live in the Budd area or the Streator area ? I have been contacted by Rosie Corrigan from Florida, who has done a lot of this Family Tree business, too. I think that she has relatives by the name of Cassaday. I am relatively sure that Paula Trainor is related to my mother's famil----through the Butlers----would there be any way of getting an e-mail address for anyone in that area related to any of these people ? Thanks, Dick Corrigan Orland Park, Ill [email protected]

    3. Frank & Paula (Trainor) Corrigan's daughter, Mary Paula "Polly" married a Dr. Raymond Cassady August 27, 1949 at St. Bernard's Church in Budd. Dr. Cassady's parents were Charles Leo Cassady and Marie Magdalen FEUERBORN. He was baptized at St. Bernard's in Budd and his god parents were Helen Feuerborn and Bernie Cassady. A little "leap of faith, you mentioned earlier that Thomas B. Corrigan married Ella Feeborn, could her last name be spelled Feuerborn? Dr. Raymond and Polly Cassady had at least 3 children: Patrick Raymond (1952), Timothy John (1953) and Kathleen Paula (1956) Joanie

    3. I did get some more information from Roger Cahill's book. Bridget G. Bee Connor was born 20 Dec 1890 in Sunbury Township, married William H. Corrigan on Jan. 6, 1913 at St. Bernard's Church in Budd. Frank Corrigan in the wedding party. There is a picture of Bee and Bill (wedding?) in the book. Frank S. Corrigan 1891 - 1980 was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Streator. Bee died Feb. 10, 1869 and Bill died Feb. 26, 1950. Both are buried in St. Paul's Cemetery in Odell. They had two children: Thomas Joseph "Joe" ( b. 1916) and Beverly Ann (1928 - 1997) I think Frank's wife just passed away in May, 2002. The Times-Press should have her obituary on line. http://www.times-press.com Joanie

    2. Hi! I have seen your emails in the net for several months. I am from Earlville which is northern LaSalle County, and there are Corrigans in my old parish, St Theresa's. The now retired librarian, Maureen Corrigan, might be of help and you could reach her via the Earl Township Library. Hope this helps you. Regards, Tom Leonard

    2. Hello, LaSalle listers, I am planning a trip to LaSalle County in mid-June. Some of my ancestors are buried at the Maxon and Mt. Hope Cemeteries in Brookfeild Township. Does anyone know where these are? I'm also looking for information on the Bowers family---also spelled Bows, Boze, Baux...My great great Grandmother was Eliza Bowers...she was married to Samuel Goodrich...these two I know quite a bit about, but I know nothing of Eliza's parents, John and Mary who came from Ireland. I know Eliza had a sister named Agnes. Thanks for your help! Joe Goodrich, NYC

    2. Mary Lou Marshall
    3. Looking for any information about Carl & Eliza (Riss) Gernentz and related families. Carl & Eliza D. Gernentz came to US 1882 from Germany (I don't know where they lived) with 3 small children & settled in area of Ransom, Illinois. Had 6 children that I am aware. Carl died 27 Sept 1918 & Eliza died 4 March 1925. On the 1900 census shows a mom-in-law living with them named Sophie Riss who was born 11 May 1819 in Germany (unknown place) & died 18 or 19th May 1903. Have absolutely no information about her. Have not been able to locate an obituary but was given information that she is buried in Allen cemetery. Would appreciate any information.
