I am searching for any information on Willie Kinsman. He died 30 August 1889. He was born in 1885. His parents were Joseph and Anna Kinsman. They were living in Streator at the time. I haven’t been able to confirm where he was buried. Can anyone help? Thanks Larrie Nichols Olathe, KS
I do---I just got one while I was in LaSalle at the Court House. Try there. Joe
Hi Everybody, Do any of you know where I can look for divorce case records from the early 1900¹s? I¹ve checked FHLC, the list of holdings at the Genealogy Guild, and IRAD holdings in DeKalb. I can¹t find any reference to them. I¹d appreciate any guidance here. Thanks, Lynn

HIS PARENTS WERE BILL AND MONICA (LARKIN) CORRIGAN. MONICA'S PARENTS AND LATER HER BROTHER AND SISTER MOVED INTO THE FARM WE DISCUSSED BETWEEN PRAIRIE CENTER AND EARLVILLE, WHEN MY GRAND-PARENTS MOVED TO ANOTHER FARM NEAR ROLLO IN THE 1940'S. Would someone be able to advise me where Father P.J. Niederberger would of been assigned in 1873? Thanks, Margaret
I found a message on the IL Archives Database just yesterday: Effective July 1, 2003, there will be a $10 non-refundable search fee for non- resident and out-of-state searches. This fee has to be paid up front. Just thought everyone should know. Mary Independence, MO

I would like to obtain a copy of a death certificate for someone who died in 1916, but the county charges $14 just for a non-certified genealogy copy. The IL Health Dept charges $10, and the IL Archives doesn't have a copy. Does anyone know how I can get a copy for less than $10? I'm looking for: Eliza Ann Justice d. 4/30/1916 at Streator, LaSalle Co. Cert # 0020114. Any help on this is very greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mary Independence, MO

Subj: Corrign Family Tree Information Date: 6/8/2003 3:46:02 PM Central Standard Time From: RCorri8411 To: [email protected] I have my Dad's Family Tree all the way back to 1800 in Ireland, but haven't been able to find my maternal grandfather, Joseph P. Corrigan's side further back than his parents and some information about his brother.s names and their wives.I am sure that there were quite a number of relatives in the Ottawa, Streator, Blackstone, Kinsman, Budd, Ransom, Odell or Sioux City, Iowa areas. It would also be nice to know the names of any of my great-grandfather's brothers or sisters, some of whom may have come to the United States and/or some that did ot (and their offspring) His parents were Thomas Corrigan, born in Loughlin Parish, Rosscommon, Ireland and married to Margaret Donahue, b. May 28, 1832 in Milltown Parish, Mayo, Ireland. I think that, for a time, they lived near Streator, with their 6 sons and no daughters. I uinderstand that one of the 6 sons was Thomas J. Corrigan born August 23, 1854 in Ottawa and married Mary Carey on March 22, 1879 in Kinsman and that Thomas passed away in September 1928 in Streator. I understand that they had : Thomas B, who lived near Streator and married Ella Freeborn (sp.) from Streator, on April 19, 1911 and that he passed away on March 5, 1952 in or near Streator. William , born January 6, 1887 in Ransom, Livingston County, and that he married Bee Connors (date unknown) and that he passed away on February 28, 1950 in or near Blackstone, Livingston County, Illinois. Francis, born April 26, 1891 and married to Paula Trainor in Streator on April 3, 1923 in Streator and that they lived in Streator at one time. I also have note that they had a daughter Margaret, born January 26, 1882 in Ransom, Livingston County, Illinois, who married Eugene Drinan in 1912. I believe that she passed away in November,1965 in or near Odell, Illinois. I also have a note of Mary, born July 21, 1883 in Ransom, who passed away November 24,1973 in Streator. ( I don't know if Mary had a husband or family.) I don't know the names of any of their offsprings. But it seems to me that I used to hear of Grandma and the aunts refer to Gene Drinan, who was apparently Margaret's husband. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- John (Jack) Corrigan was born March 4, 1856 in or near Ottawa and died November 23, 1929 in or near Sioux City, Iowa. He was apparently buried there. I have found nothing about his being married or having children. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------- James J. Corrigan was born in or near Ottawa on January 3, 1862and married and passed away in Ottawa on January 22, 1931. I have found no record of him being married or having any children. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- William J. Corrigan was born May 28, 1863 in Ottawa and married Mary Ann Brennan on November 28, 1888, in Dwight, Illinois. He apparently passed away in Sioux City, Iowa on November 28, 1949. I have found no record of where he and his wife are buried or if they had children. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- Michael B. Corrigan is, I believe, the yougest of the brothers and was born in Ottawa on November 29, 1889 and married Emma Quinn (Date and Place Unknown) I understand that he passed away in Streator in 1936. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- Except for our grandparents, I do not have any of the descendats of the other brothers and Thomas J. Corrigan and Mary Ann Carey. But I feel that someone else may have that information and have passed it on to you or their existing relatives in one of the areas or it might be a matter of public record in one of those areas. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- I have been trying to work on this Family Tree for several years for these grandparents side, but this is as far back as I have gotten. I would appreciate any help that you or any of their existing relatives can give me. I understand that at least one of our grandfather's brothers and some of his family were farmers near Budd, Illinois in Livingston County. Would you have a local address in Sioux City, Iowa to write to an organization or for relatives of John (Jack) Corrigan's family and William J. Corrigan's Family Tree ? If you or anyone is interested, I have a professionaly made photgrapraph of all 6 brothers as relatively young men and the another professionaly made photo of them sitting in the same order (about 9 x 12 ) that seems to be taken abought 30 years later. I can mail copies. I would really appreciate your help in locating any of these people, for no other reason to complete more of the Family Tree. Sincerely, Dick Corrigan Orland Park, Illinois 60467 [email protected]
I'm trying to find a part of my dutch family who was partly jewish. Is there a jewish society in LaSalle?
Jacob Herter was my paternal Grandmother's father. He was born abt 1848 in Baden. Names of his parents, siblings or date of arrival in this country are unknown. He apparently settled in the area of Peru, LaSalle, IL where he married Rosalinda Walter on 7 Nov 1871. The couple had the following children (1) Emelie Minnie (My Grandmother)-b. 1872 (2) Jacob A. -b. 1874 (3) Carrie Rose - b. 1878 (4) Albert (5) Arnold... Jacob Herter died in 1899 in Iola, Allen, KS. Any information regarding his family in Peru would be greatly appreciated. Particularly would like to know identity of his parents who may have continued to reside there for some years. If you make any progress finding records in Leland, please let me know. My ggfather, Christen Romer, first settled there from Bornholm, Denmark in 1881. He started a business putting in drainage tile to drain farmland. He brought other workers from Denmark to help in his business. His family came in 1884, and were possibly there until 1892, when he is in Chicago where he was naturalilzed. buzz
