Kat, I wonder if these names are mentioned in either newpaper you have? George Henry BREAN, mygreat, great uncle, was ( according to an article in the Waukegan Gazette, Nov. 21, 1903) "one of Wkgn's most prominent and successful contractors". Also Ira A. WORSFOLD, according the same article was "the leading architect of the city". George married Ira's sister, Elizabeth, in 1874. Ira's father was Richard Worsfold. George H. Brean built "stores of Yeoman, Cornia & Fox, and Dietmeyer and residences of Steele, Lyon, Lindsay, Knox, Compton, Pearce, Hutchinson, Kirk ..." (Portrait and Biographical Album of Lake County, Illinois, 1891, pg. 323 ) He also built "..Lake County jail, German Catholic Church, Father Gavin's residence, Lindsay building, Partridge building, Stewart building, Coon building, residence of Nelson A. Steele and many others." (History of Lake County p. 705) I wonder if either George Henry Brean or any of the Worsfold names are mentioned in your paper. Thanks in advance. T. Ives
