There is no regular staff at the museum at this time and someone at Jack Benny Center for the Arts will assist you with your interest in donating items to the Waukegan Historical Society. It would be nice if the items could stay in Waukegan. Message Board Post: Hi Barbra, It was the Waukegan Historical Society. I contacted them three times over a 15 yr period and was told they were not interested. These photos as mentioned are from the turn of the century till 1932. Here is a little background. I purchased them from an antique store on North ave in Wuakegan around 1980. The antique dealer had just bought up an old photo studio in Waukegan and I being a photographer also purchased all the photo related things he had. Cameras, negitives, etc. There are around 100 useable glass negitives out of this collection. Most are formal portraits , school portraits a group of about thirty students, numerous shots of houses, some farms shots of animals, barns and families. The most interesting to me was three 8x10 film, not glass, negitives of an air show at the Waukegan airport in 1932. When you blow the images up you can read the licence plates on the cars. So this is how I can indentify the year, In the photos you can see the planes, cars an! d the airport hanger with Waukegan logo on the hanger. In the photos there is what I learned later was a Gyro plane part plane part Helicopter, pretty interesting. As mentioned I did contact the Historical Society in Waukegan my last attempt was about 2 years ago. Never recieved a reply back from an e-mail or a phone call. I was going to sell them on E-bay but never got to it. Right now I am not sure of what I should do with them, I hate to get rid of them on E-bay as I grew up in Waukegan and feel some people in the Waukegan area might be interested in them. I am not sure I want to deal at all with the Historical Soceity again. Any Idea's. Pat
