Hi listers, I am researching the Vandemark/Vandermark family, who were early settlers of Avon Township. Seeking to determine: Were Caroline and Maria C. Vandemark twin sisters? What I know about them: Caroline married Levi Parker 9/21/1845 and Maria C. married James J. Parker 4/14/1847, both in Lake County, IL. 1850 IL census shows Levi Parker living with Martha C., but I believe that Martha C. is Caroline. Maria C. and Martha C. are both listed as age 24 on the 1850 IL census. Both were born in NY, but I can't find birth or baptismal records. Martha's grave stone in MN indicates that she was born in 1825. I have not located Maria's grave, but I suspect that she may have died in Lake County since a James J. Parker married Sarah A. Simonds 4/18/1855 in Lake County. Does anyone have access to a Lake County 1860 census? I am interested in a listing for James J. Parker (and for Caleb Colegrove who married another sister, Rachel Vandemark). Can anyone help me determine whether Maria C. died in Lake County and whether a cemetery record exists? Since I am unable to find birth records, I figure that census and cemetery records will help in determining whether Maria C. and Martha C. Vandermark were twins. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Christine
