Thank you. I tried to find Ela using MapQuest but no luck. I notice the post office in the census is Long Grove, so maybe that's my best bet for finding it. My grandmother was Julia Heckenschweiler and she came over here from Alsace Lorraine in 1902 to be with relatives in the Chicago area. Her mother's maiden name was Issler. I find Hecketsweilers and Isslers living very close in Ela and, although the spelling is different, I suspect these are the families for which I'm searching. Is anyone on this list working those names? I'm also wondering if the Isslers, Eisslers, Eislers, Ysslers, etc. were all connected.
