He was born in Erryarmstrong, Clara, Co. Offaly, Ireland ca 1906. Emigrated from Clara in 1920's possibly to Lake County. He had a brother Jim in Brooklyn, NY and a sister, Elizabeth (Lizzie) in what is believed either Chicago or Florida as well as brothers in Ireland -- Henry, Bernie, and Billie and a sister, Margaret (Maggie) Cowan Aspel in Ireland.
