If you check the history of the catholic churches in the Chicago Area, look for the history of St. Patrick's Church in Lake Forest. Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan was the earliest catholic church in Lake County, I believe. There is a book at the Warren-Newport Public Library in Gurnee, IL that gives the history of the Archdiocese of Chicago and does a parish by parish history. Meehna's Settlement is linked to St. Patrick's Church in Lake Forest. I am interested in finding out more about a James Moran Family from the Wadsworth/Millburn Area who owned quite a bit of land in Newport Township and was one of the earliest members of St. Andrew's Church (now called St. Patrick Church) in Wadsworth. I am doing this for our local historical Society.
