Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Sg.2ADI/1842.1 Message Board Post: Hi Cindy- After some hunting, I was able to find the business card I got from the gentleman in charge at Pine View. This is what the card reads; Pine View Memorial Park 10750 West Beach Road Beach Park IL 60087 ph # 847-623-0958 fax # 847-249-1593 David L. Guth Family Service Counselor Don't let the address throw you. Beach Park is a small area in between Zion and Waukegan. I called a head of time and spoke with David. He had a maintenance guy go out and flag the graves for me and also made copies of the records. He was extremely helpful and very well versed, and interested in genealogy. We must have talked for over an hour. As a courtesy, I passed the maintenance guy a $20 for his help. He gave me a little tour of the park and also cleaned off the stones because he knew I'd be taking pictures. I talked to him a while too, seems he knew some distant rellies of mine. As for the obits, I personally would look them up at the Waukegan Library, just because I'm familiar with that place. Zion might have what you need but I have no experience there. The vital records for that county, Lake, are all held at the courthouse, which is located next to the library, in Waukegan. Good Luck & Good Hunting John in Racine WI

Edition: Chicago Tribune Edward H. Bennett Jr., 78, an architect and planner in Lake Forest, had served as director of the Chicago Regional Planning Association from 1952 to 1958 and as chairman of the Lake County Regional Planning Association from 1960 to 1970. A resident of Lake Forest, he died at home Wednesday. His father and Daniel H. Burnham wrote the famous Chicago Plan of 1909 that resulted in changes not only in the city but in other cities and countries where its broad strokes were imitated. Mr. Bennett was a member of the architectural firm of Schweikher & Elting from 1953 to 1954 and of Elting & Bennett from 1954 to 1956. As chairman of the Lake County Regional Planning Association, he led an unsuccessful fight in the early 1960s to keep the North Shore electric railroad from going out of business. He had served as a director of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, a trustee of the Art Institute of Chicago, a trustee of the Chicago Orchestral Association and a director of the Arts Club of Chicago. Mr. Bennett was the first president of the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation. Survivors include his wife, Katharine; a son, Edward III; two stepsons, David Cook Phillips II and Frederick Falley Phillips; and four grandsons. Services will be private.
