I will do just that (regarding the SS #). I know my grandmother's name was Myrtle - other's were able to help me confirm that (it's what my mother remembered her name to be but wasn't completely sure) so now it's just finding her last name. How 'bout that - I'm likely not at all Armenian, anyway. :-/ Wow, it's a bit unsettling to find the information I've been looking for, only to find out that what I've been told and thought all my life isn't true. His Soc number was 351-20-3256. You can fill out a form at the Social Security office to request to see you father and Uncle's Social Security appiclation. It should show you who his parents names were. Even his mother's maiden name. I also found a Klara Goryan born Sept 19 1917 died in Staten Island, Richmond, New York on Aug 8 2005. She might be related too. Then there is a Beverly Goryan born Sept 26 1924 and died Sept 10 1997 in Lake Forest ILLinois. I would assume that she is Veron's wife.

They only charge 4.00 for genealogical purposes. I'm not sure if your father's birth record is early enough but I know Stanley's would. Your father's birth record should be around $8.00-$12.00, If I remember correct. Also if you are interested in any probate records for Stanley you can call or write to the Illinois Regional Archives Deposity at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb. They have an index of all the probate files they have in storage. They will do look ups for free if they find it they only charge about .20 per copy. If you need any more help with finding information in Lake county let me know. Most of my family is and was from Lake county. I have done extenise research in Lake county. I hope I have helped. Pam

In the town of Fox Lake Village. Try contacting the Fremont Library in Libertyville. They have a hugh file of Obits. Perhaps this obit is in the file and you can see if your father is listed as one of his children. Carol K. is the one that is very helpful. She does not charge to look up and type out the obit. If you want a copy sent to you they charge $5.00 for the lookup and .50 for a copies. Pam

It was Waukegan's principal/only hospital until the early 1920's when Victory Memorial Hospital was built on the North side, and St. Therese Hospital on the West side. Jane McAlister Hosp. was converted into an apartment building after Victory was built, and remained such until the 1980's(?), when it was again converted, this time into a dorm for Shimer College. However, Shimer is planning to move most if not all of it's operations to Chicago, so I'm not sure what fate is in store for this building.

Her father was Timothy Cook(e)& her mother was Hepzibah Oaks(es). Abel, who d. 1/16/1859, is buried in Wauconda Cemetery. I know they had a son, John b. abt. 1828 in NY. John m. a WHEELOCK in March of 1850 in Lake Co. His wife's first name has been spelled several ways; Ianthe, Janthe & Danthe. This couple d. in & are buried in Whitman Co., WA. I am also seeking any information about her family history. I have quite a bit of history on both Cook & Oaks families except for this one which apparently connects to the Wheelock line I have.
